The US government has granted Huawei another 90-day trade license extension, allowing the Chinese mobile maker to serve existing smartphone users before its full ban takes effect.

According to Reuters, Huawei can still provide software updates and enjoy existing telecom networks, as it now has until November 19 before it is fully blacklisted in the country. On the other hand, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross explained that this decision is mainly because of US customers who are mostly in rural areas.

If you think that US might have a change of heart soon, then, don’t get your hopes too high, as Trump administration added 46 Huawei affiliates to its economic blacklist. With this, there are now more than 100 Huawei-related companies that are banned in the country.

Meanwhile, Huawei addressed that the 90-day lift means not that much, as US still treated them “unjustly.” The brand is also against the Commerce Department’s decision to blacklist another 46 of its affiliates.
