While the enhanced community quarantine is in place, apart from getting supplies like medicines and grocery items, a common concern for many is how to send money to friends and relatives living in cities and provinces away from the metro. Given that the government advises everyone to stay at home, this becomes even more challenging to address, especially not everyone can just go to banks or remittance centers unlike before.

Remember that in order to send money to another PayMaya user or to a Smart Padala center, an upgraded PayMaya account is required. This can be done through the “Upgrade My Account” button on the PayMaya app. Users will be asked to fill in the needed details then upload any of the following IDs for fast and seamless review and approval of your application: Driver’s License, Passport, UMID, Postal ID, SSS ID, or PRC license.

An upgraded PayMaya account also allows money withdrawal and expands the monthly transaction limit to Php100,000 from Php50,000.

Apart from money remittance through Smart Padala, PayMaya also allows seamless bank transfer through the app. Currently, bank transfer fees are waived until further notice.
