The Philippines is one of the world's first regions to take advantage of this unique offer, as it is the messaging app's fastest-growing market in the Asia Pacific, with a 50 percent increase in voice calls expected by 2021. Viber calls will be free in countries with large Filipino populations, such as Hong Kong, Kuwait, and Singapore.
"At Viber, innovation and our users will always remain at the center of everything we do," says David Tse, senior director for APAC at Rakuten Viber. "By providing free calls to our Filipino users, we are responding to their growing desire for high-quality, crystal-clear talks with those who aren't Viber members." We hope that by providing this unique offer, we will be able to assist them in communicating with family, friends, coworkers, or anybody else worldwide, including people who do not yet have Viber. It's our small way of making our technology more accessible to more people."
