Alliance of Tech Innovators for the Nation (ATIN) to Boost Philippine Digital Economy Through Public-Private Partnership
The Philippines, which has the fastest-growing digital economy among the major ASEAN nations in 2021, is predicted to create PHP 5 trillion in economic value by 2030, according to a 2022 research issued by Singapore-based financial consultancy firm AlphaBeta. The Alliance of Tech Innovators for the Nation (ATIN) seeks to bring together the government, industry, and local communities to develop an environment that encourages digital economy innovation in order to achieve the expected economic growth. This is ATIN's ultimate goal, which they announced publicly on April 12 during a Media Launch attended by executives from the tech sector and the government.

ATIN is a loose multi-stakeholder coalition of Filipino tech sector participants and activists working to enhance equitable growth and development through the use of technology. According to ATIN, the three actions that must be taken to improve the lives of typical Filipinos in the digital economy include improving digital skill training and education, accelerating digital adoption and innovation, and promoting digital trade opportunities.
By making financial services more widely available, digitalization will support inclusive growth. "A collaborative effort between the Public Sector, Business Stakeholders, and MSMEs will help to create a digital ecosystem that drives development, long-term employment, and inclusive growth in the country," says Monchito Ibrahim, Lead Convenor of ATIN and former Undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The ATIN Launch, held at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, was the coalition's maiden effort to raise public awareness of the health of the nation's digital economy and the essential role that multi-stakeholder initiatives play in its progress. ATIN aspires to unify the public and commercial sectors to promote more participation in the digital economy by Filipinos and to provide an enabling legislative and regulatory environment. The group also intends to hold the ATIN Digital Economy Summit, which will bring together technology and policy thought leaders, as well as government decision-makers, to continue debates and elevate new challenges, policies, and initiatives for the Philippine digital economy.
