Ribbon's 5 nanometer (nm) - 140Gbaud transmission chipset is being used by Converge as a key part of this important relationship. With this change, the company's fiber network will be able to handle an amazing 1.2 Terabit per second (Tbps) per channel. This will meet the growing need for very high bandwidth, especially for very big applications that need about 400 Gbps.
Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge was excited about the new technology and said, "Ribbon's innovative solution exceeds our strict standards for this extra layer on top of our existing backbone." This will allow us to set a new standard for innovation by giving our customers unbeatable speed and bandwidth availability at a time when the need for data-intensive apps is rising.
Ribbon's 5-nm chipset has better speed, uses less energy, and manages heat better, making it one of the most environmentally friendly optical network technologies on the market right now.

Long-term, these improvements will save Converge a lot of money and power while also making it more reliable, speeding up data transfer rates, and making it easier to add more users. Converge is also using Ribbon's Muse SDN Domain Orchestration, a set of tools meant to improve network capabilities and make sure they work at their best by automating, planning, designing nodes, and controlling them in real-time.
Sam Bucci, COO and EVP of Ribbon was excited about the stronger partnership. He said, "We are delighted to deepen our relationship with Converge ICT through this significant new deployment." Our technology, location in the area, and proven 24/7 after-sales support are key to our ability to help Converge ICT grow its network to meet the rising demand for capacity.
Ribbon Communications Inc., with its main office in Texas, is a world leader in IP optical networking systems and real-time communications technology. They help many of the biggest service providers, businesses, and people in charge of vital infrastructure worldwide update and protect their networks.
Converge has made a number of efforts to strengthen its network infrastructure, and this strategic use of Ribbon's network technology is one of them. Converge increased the speed of its metro backbone from 400 Gbps to 800 Gbps in the previous year.
A few days ago, Converge signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Super Micro Computer Inc., a well-known US tech company. The goal of this agreement is to build data centers in the Philippines that use AI and are good for the environment.
