IoTCon 2024 is a two-day event that started today at the SMX Convention Center. Its theme is "Cultivating Connected Ecosystems for an IoT-Ready Philippines." IoTCon is an important place for government officials, industry experts, and foreign IoT contributors to meet, talk, and learn about the possibilities of technology that is connected.

IoTCon 2024 is more than just a meeting; it's also the start of a strong, unified IoT ecosystem in the Philippines.

Raisa Orbon, Packetworx's CEO, said, "The chief aim of IoTCon 2024 is to spur the expansion of IoT solutions in the Philippines by creating a conducive atmosphere for collaboration, where local and global entities can connect, exchange insights, and probe into innovative technologies."

The event this year, which ends on October 30, was put together by the Department of Information and Communications Technology and Browan Communications. It's an important turning point in the digital transformation of the country, focusing on important areas like emergency management, smart cities, and public utilities.

IoTCon 2024 builds on previous events that were successful by going into more depth about important IoT uses and technology progress. "This year, IoTCon 2024 casts a wider net and offers more strategic content," Orbon said. She told us, "This year, we have arranged roundtable discussions that enable participants to engage directly with LoRa Alliance members, government bodies, and industry leaders."

The DICT lays out the plan for an IoT-ready Philippines in the opening talks and keynotes. Arnold Bagabaldo, CEO of Packetworx, talks about improvements in the Internet of Things (IoT) and ways that the government, businesses, and foreign partners could work together to speed up the digital transformation and make life better.

Alper Yegin, Interim CEO of the LoRa Alliance, talks about how the LoRa Alliance is actively shaping innovation and IoT adoption in ASEAN and around the world by pushing the LoRaWAN standard to meet changing market needs. Henry Huang, CEO of Browan Communications, talks about how things are going with integrating all systems, building platforms, and helping to make IoT networks last.

The LoRa (Long Range) technology and the LoRa Alliance® are getting a lot of attention this year. LoRa technology is important for large-scale IoT deployments because it has a long range and uses little power. This is especially true in smart city infrastructure, agriculture, and environmental tracking.

The LoRa Alliance® is an important part of Packetworx's plan to make IoT a reality around the world. Orbon said, "The LoRa Alliance's participation raises the event's status and expands its reach around the world." At their shows, they will show off new LoRaWAN® uses, such as smart energy systems and emergency management systems.

As a result of its partnership with the LoRa Alliance, IoTCon 2024 becomes a networking hub where the more than 3,000 attendees can meet global leaders, local stakeholders, and industry experts. The event also has around 50 exhibitors showing off the newest developments in IoT, including smart city applications and industrial IoT solutions, with live demonstrations of IoT in action.

"This year, we've constructed a series of interconnected activities where participants can engage in discussions, witness live demonstrations, and network with peers in a well-structured and integrated manner," he says.
