LG Unveils Google Cast-Integrated Hotel TVs at ISE 2025: A Game-Changer in the Hospitality Industry |
Google Cast, a cutting-edge technology developed by Google, allows users to seamlessly stream their preferred content from their personal devices directly to their TVs. This integration into LG's hotel TVs offers guests a secure and user-friendly way to access over-the-top (OTT) streaming services, further solidifying LG's position as a pioneer in the hospitality TV sector.
Starting from January 10, LG's hotel TVs equipped with webOS23 or later versions can now offer guests the luxury of Google Cast, coupled with features specifically designed for hotel use. This technology ensures privacy across hotel rooms through network isolation. Guests can easily connect their personal devices by simply scanning a QR code displayed on the TV screen, eliminating the need to input personal information or log into their preferred OTT apps. The connection remains active for the duration of the guest's stay and is automatically deleted upon check-out, ensuring a secure and worry-free user experience.

LG's commitment to the hospitality market goes beyond just TVs. The company offers a comprehensive range of tailored solutions, including state-of-the-art software and digital signage. In 2023, LG made headlines by launching the world's first hotel TV with AirPlay – Apple’s wireless content-sharing technology, which was globally rolled out in 2024. The recent integration of Google Cast makes LG's hotel TV the first in the world to offer both AirPlay and Google Cast, setting a new standard in guest convenience. LG also offers the Pro:Centric management solution, which allows hotel operators to customize content for individual rooms, automatically displayed upon guest check-in.
Tiger Lan, Google's senior director of engineering for multi-device experiences, expressed excitement about this partnership, stating, "LG Hotel TVs with Google Cast will deliver a seamless entertainment experience for guests." He further applauded LG's efforts in bringing this integration to the hospitality industry, which he believes will provide travelers with the comforts of home while on the move.
Echoing this sentiment, Paik Ki-mun, head of Information Display Business of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, stated, "Today's hotel guests desire to stream their favorite content from their personal devices to their in-room TV. With LG Hotel TVs integrating Google Cast, we offer them a secure and convenient content-streaming experience, akin to what they are accustomed to at home."
