The Redmi Note 15 5G has gotten plenty of attention for its specs and price point, but the official feature list doesn't tell the whole story. Like many Android devices, it ships with a number of settings disabled by default – tucked away in menus most users never open.

Gesture Shortcuts
Gesture controls are easy to miss but genuinely useful once you've set them up. The most practical ones involve screenshots. Sliding three fingers down captures the full screen, while pressing and holding three fingers lets you select a specific area. If you take a lot of screenshots, these beat the usual button combination once they become muscle memory.

For the camera, a double-press of the power button launches it instantly. This is handy when you need to shoot quickly. If the phone is locked, double-pressing the volume button down does the same thing.

Edge Touch Protection
Large screens mean more chances for your palm or fingers to register unintended taps, especially near the edges. The Redmi Note 15 5G has a built-in setting to handle this, letting you define how much of the edge area of the phone should be unresponsive. You can choose from a preset range – big area or small area – set a custom size.

Second Space
Second Space essentially turns one phone into two. Each space runs independently – separate home screen, apps, accounts, and data – with nothing shared between them. Switching is handled through the dedicated Switch app, and each space can be secured with its own PIN, password, or fingerprint.

It's a practical feature if you want to keep work and personal use cleanly divided, or if you need two active accounts of the same app without relying on built-in clone features.

Memory Extension
Memory Extension borrows a portion of your internal storage and puts it to work as virtual RAM, giving the phone more headroom when you have multiple apps running. On the Redmi Note 15 5G, you can allocate 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB, depending on how much storage you have to spare.

The result is fewer apps reloading from scratch when you switch between them – particularly noticeable if you tend to juggle a lot of apps at once.
