Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has signed an agreement to acquire Ookla, a prominent leader in customer experience analytics, network intelligence, and competitive benchmarking. This strategic move integrates Ookla’s suite of data products—including Speedtest®, Downdetector®, RootMetrics®, and Ekahau®—into Accenture’s portfolio to assist enterprises and hyperscalers in optimizing the critical 5G and Wi-Fi networks that form their digital core.

As artificial intelligence continues to scale, the importance of network-level insights has expanded beyond the telecommunications sector. The data captured at the device, application, and network layers is now vital for a range of functions, from optimizing retail traffic and utility smart home analytics to preventing fraud in banking.

Based in Seattle, Ookla’s team consists of approximately 430 specialists in data science and radio frequency and software engineering. Their platform is powered by over 250 million consumer-initiated tests every month, providing a deep combination of Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS) insights.
Stephen Bye, CEO of Ookla, stated that joining Accenture will allow the company to scale its data business among the world's largest enterprises and redefine how connectivity is experienced globally.
