Powering the 48th ASEAN Summit with Gigabit Speeds
The centerpiece of this partnership is the 48th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place at the newly inaugurated Mactan Expo Center this May. Converge will provide an uninterrupted 5-Gbps fiber connection to support the gathering of leaders from all 11 member nations.
“We are proud to showcase our world-class connectivity to thousands of foreign delegates and Filipino government and business leaders,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder. “From the airports to meeting venues, Converge is supporting the ASEAN meetings with gigabit connectivity.”
Seamless Digital Experience from Touchdown to Summit
To ensure delegates experience premium connectivity the moment they arrive, Converge has activated 10-Gbps capacity across all access points at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 1, 2, and 3.
Beyond the main summit, the fiber-fast network has already been deployed to 11 sites across Metro Manila and Cebu, including five-star hosting venues such as:
- NuStar Integrated Hotel and Casino (Cebu)
- The Peninsula Manila
- Diamond Hotel Manila Bay
- Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay

Digital Bayanihan: Meeting Global Standards
The importance of this digital backbone is underscored by the shift of 650 preparatory meetings to online platforms due to the national fuel emergency. While these preparatory sessions moved to the cloud, the 48th ASEAN Summit remains a face-to-face event, requiring the highest international standards of reliability.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda praised the collaboration, stating, “Seamless connectivity is the backbone of its success. Converge’s commitment ensures that our delegates remain connected, proving once again that we can achieve great things through Digital Bayanihan.”
Expansion in Visayas and Mindanao
This partnership aligns with Converge’s broader strategy to fortify its network in the south. The company plans to roll out more ports in Visayas and Mindanao this year, increasing service coverage to serve expansive venues and growing business hubs.
