The Xiaomi Redmi 9 is technically a Redmi Note 9 with different sets of cameras. Yes, they have lots of similarities. Both devices have 6.53-inch displays with Full HD+ resolution, albeit the former has a notch on its screen while the latter embraces the punch-hole technology. In addition, the Redmi 9 uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3, while the Note 9 has the newer Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, both devices are powered by a MediaTek chipset with a 2GHz octa-core CPU paired with ARM Mali-G52 MC2 graphics. The chipset used by the Redmi 9 is Helio G80, while Note 9 is Helio G85. It may look like there is a big difference between the two silicon chips, but in reality, they are identical, save for a 50MHz higher GPU clock speed of G85.

In terms of memory, the Redmi 9 comes in two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. The price difference between the two is 500 pesos, so, as much as possible, go for the higher model.
Camera-wise, there are four modules mounted on its back composed of a 13MP f/2.2 primary shooter, an 8MP 118-degree ultrawide lens, a 5MP f/2.4 for taking macro shots, and 2MP f/2.4 for depth or bokeh effect. In the front, there is an 8MP f/2.0 module for taking selfies, TikToks, and more.
As a budget-gaming device, it is equipped with a massive 5,020mAh battery for longer gameplays and comes with an 18W fast charger to quickly fill up the juice.
The other notable specs include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, wireless FM radio, a dedicated slot for storage expansion, and runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
