Smart Offers FREE WiFi at McDonald’s Night Classroom Project
For the third year in a row, PLDT wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has partnered with McDonald's Philippines to launch the 'Night Classroom' project in 60 participating stores around the country. This project seeks to give students a safe and comfortable learning environment outside of the confines of their institutions.

The 'McDonald's Night Classroom' is a follow-up to the McDonald's Classroom initiative, which launched in 2020. Approximately 250 disused party rooms were repurposed as virtual classrooms for professors and students to complete their online learning requirements.
McDonald's Philippines has adapted the concept as schools reopened to suit kids who require a secure and acceptable environment to perform homework, study, and conduct research online after school hours.
A Convenient Online Learning Environment
Smart has offered free WiFi connection in support of the project with Smart WiFi installations in McDonald's stores and Smart Bro Pocket WiFi units in additional participating sites. This allows participants in the Night Classroom to connect online and fully exploit the Philippines' quickest and finest mobile network, as recognized by Ookla, the global leader in mobile and network broadband information.

McDonald's Night Classroom participants can enjoy a flawless online learning experience, effortlessly accessing the internet, uploading and downloading huge files in seconds, instantly searching the web for information, and streaming instructional films without buffering, thanks to Smart's help.
More than 40,000 McDonald's Night Classroom Attendees
From March 28 to May 31, the McDonald's Night Classroom project had a tremendous influence on the lives of teachers and children, helping nearly 40,000 participants at 60 McDonald's locations around the country.

The Fastest and Best Mobile Network in the Philippines
Smart is the first and only Philippine mobile provider to receive Ookla's Best Mobile Network award in the first and second quarters of 2022, as well as the third and fourth quarters of 2022. Smart received both the Fastest Mobile Network and the Best Mobile Coverage honors within the same reporting periods to earn this coveted honor.
Smart's 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G networks will cover 97 percent of the country's population by the end of March 2023.
